Progression notes

Steam notes

This is a recorded notes page for Season 10 difficulty names and the Steam launch remap. HeroSiegeHub is not publishing a Hell unlock walkthrough, choosing an unlock boss, or ranking difficulties.

The quoted remap comes from the Steam Ebontharn / Season 10 launch notes posted August 18, 2026. Later Steam 7.0.2 and 7.0.3 notes still name Nightmare, Hell, and Inferno. Steam 7.0.6 does not change those difficulty names. This page was not playtested in live gameplay.

Current difficulty names

Season 10 still names these difficulties: Normal, Nightmare, Hell, Inferno. Nightmare still exists as a named difficulty after Normal.

HeroSiegeHub does not currently have a verified step-by-step for which boss or quest unlocks Nightmare or Hell.

Steam launch remap

Steam launch notes say campaign progress to endgame has been expedited, then:

After finishing Normal, you will retain your waypoints in Nightmare. Nightmare is now effectively Hell 1, and Hell is roughly Hell 4.5, followed by Inferno.

Steam does not name the boss, NPC, quest, or portal that counts as finishing Normal. This page does not add one.

Act 9 access

Steam launch notes say Act 9 (Ebontharn) is free and part of the base game, and that Act 8 is now part of natural progression. The Act 9 access line is:

This new act is accessible after defeating Odin in Act 8.

This page stops there. It does not add later Act 9 steps.

What this page does not include

This is not an unlock walkthrough. It does not name an unlock boss, NPC, quest, or portal for Nightmare, Hell, or Inferno.

It also does not use older Mevius / Hell 1–5 gate tables as current Season 10 fact. Those tables do not match the Steam remap quoted above.

Patch notes checked

Steam 7.0.2 still names nightmare, hell, and inferno. It includes Abyssal Chest magic find on inferno and hell, Nightmare D-tier item rolls, and the line "Removed Cthulhu dialogue from nightmare+". That last line names Cthulhu in a patch note. It is not an unlock recipe, and this page does not treat it as one.

Steam 7.0.3 still names those difficulties. It buffed nightmare experience gain from 2% to 10%, hell from 6% to 15%, and inferno from 15% to 20%. It also buffed Abyssal Chest spawn chance on nightmare to 22%, hell 28%, and inferno 34%, and says the Valkyrie gate now opens automatically in nightmare+. Those lines confirm Nightmare as a live difficulty. They are not an Abyssal Chest walkthrough.

Steam 7.0.6 is bugfixes and class/skill notes. It does not mention Nightmare, Hell, or Inferno, and it does not replace the difficulty list.

Later farming

Recorded Colossal Chest farming notes are a later Ether-spend loop after you are in Hell. That page is not the way to unlock Nightmare or Hell, and this page is not an Ether node path.

Omitted on purpose

  • Any unlock boss, NPC, quest, portal, or progression step presented as a HeroSiegeHub recipe
  • A Cthulhu twice sequence, or any other named boss, as the way to unlock Nightmare or Hell
  • Damien, a town elder, or world-tier flag steps as a Season 10 Hell unlock
  • Mevius / Hell 1–5 unlock gates from older difficulty tables as current Season 10 fact
  • A difficulty named Hard
  • Inferno unlock steps
  • Ether point totals, monster-level numbers, or recommended character levels

Unverified or omitted

Sources / Methodology

Difficulty names and the remap are recorded from Steam Season 10 launch notes. 7.0.2 and 7.0.3 were checked for later difficulty names. This page does not copy community unlock walkthroughs.
